Breastfeeding Tips
Lactation Services
When a mother decides to breastfeed her newborn baby, she is making one of many decisions to do the best for her child. Although natural, breastfeeding does not necessarily come easily, and many mothers are unsure how to breastfeed their newborn infant. Often times, education is the key to success. With the help of our physicians and licensed, registered lactation consultant you can get past the common obstacles and ensure a successful feeding experience for you and your baby. Even those undecided or unsure about breastfeeding can gain the knowledge and information to help make the right decision.
Our board-certified lactation consultant has extensive experience providing breastfeeding assessment, consultation, and information to new mothers. She is qualified to demonstrate the many facets of breastfeeding, including proper positioning of the newborn, ways to ensure the baby is securely latched to the breast as well as ways to ensure proper milk supply. Our lactation consultant also works with the mother if she is having problems nursing. She may offer suggestions to help the mother increase her milk supply, convince a baby to nurse, and confront nursing challenges that may exist after she has given birth to multiples.
