Our 2007 Duke Children's Teddy Bear Ball Quilt
"The Color of Hope"

The Color of Hope, a three-panel art quilt was created from fabrics that have been hand-dyed, painted, collaged, beaded and stitched by hundreds of patients of Duke Children’s Hospital. This was accomplished in a series of fun, hands-on workshops led by textile artist Peg Gignoux during the summer of 2007. Campers at Camp Kaleidoscope generated dozens of yards of hand-painted and patterned fabrics. They made marvelous collages by artfully combining a variety of colors and shapes that serve as bright backgrounds for a series of charming poems about color. Buttons and beads were added for a dash of additional whimsy.
