MIX 101.5 WRAL-FM Radiothon
Duke Children's Hospital & Health Center
Tune in and mark your calendars for the 18th annual MIX 101.5 WRAL-FM Radiothon for Duke Children’s Hospital & Health Center on Tuesday, February 14th and Wednesday, February 15th. MIX 101.5 morning show hosts, Bill Jordan and Lynda Loveland, will kick off the annual fund raising event with live broadcasts from the lobby of Duke Children’s McGovern-Davison Children’s Health Center.
The MIX 101.5 WRAL-FM Radiothon is Duke Children’s Hospital & Health Center’s largest single fundraising event each year. This signature event raises funds to benefit children’s programs and further support the continuation of excellence within the medical and surgical programs housed at Duke Children’s Hospital & Health Center. The MIX 101.5 Radiothon for Duke Children's raises more money per capita than any other Children’s Miracle Network Hospital’s Radiothon in the U.S. or Canada.
Over the past 17 years, MIX 101.5 has raised over $13 million dollars for the kids at Duke Children's. Every year, MIX 101.5 listeners, our sponsors, patient families and hundreds of volunteers come together to make magic happen for Duke Children’s. Join us this year to hear from patient families, Duke Children’s leading pediatric doctors and friends of Duke Children’s, and make a gift to support the miracles and hope provided by Duke Children’s!
Your gift supports valuable programs and services for our patients and their families, such as:
- preoperative educational brochures, teaching dolls and videos for children;
- a reading program to promote early literacy skills among children at highest risk for school failure;
- craft supplies for the Child and Adolescent Life program;
- enuresis alarms for urology patients;
- meal and parking passes and phone cards to assist low income families with local needs while their children are at Duke Children’s;
- magazine subscriptions, toys and games for clinic areas;
- weekly visits to both inpatient and clinic areas by clowns, mimes, magicians and singers in our Make 'em Smile program.

The 2011 17th annual MIX 101.5 Radiothon for Duke Children's raised $1,224,053. Dr. Joseph St. Geme, Chair of the Duke Department of Pediatrics and Chief Medical Officer of Duke Children's Hospital, and Bill Jordan and Lynda Loveland of WRAL FM's MIX 101.5, are joined by team members to celebrate reaching this milestone.
