The Duke Children's Classic celebrated 35 years of helping make miracles happen for Duke Children's Hospital & Health Center, May 31 - June 1, 2008. The event, hosted by Jeff Foxworthy, was filled with laughter and wonderful memories of a great run.
There was sadness in the hearts of everyone when Foxworthy gave the command for the golfers to start the engines of their golf carts, "for the final time." During the planning for this event, the organizers reached the difficult decision that the 35th Classic would be the final one in its known format. Plans for future fundraising opportunities for the hospital will be made carefully and thoughtfully, with the best interest of the Duke Children's patients always being the number one priority.
Over the years, the Classic has raised $14 million for pediatric programs at Duke Children's and created priceless lifelong friendships. This amazing accomplishment was made possible by the support of sponsors, celebrities, countless vounteers and the Duke community.
Your options for supporting future endeavors at Duke Children's Hospital & Health Center are as varied as the children we treat. For more information about these opportunities, please visit: How You Can Help.
Special thanks to our 2008 sponsors for their continued support.
