Services for Professionals
- Admits, Transfers, Referrals
When a patient's condition requires services available at Duke Children's, the process of admitting, transferring and referring patients is one of our top priorities. To help referring physicians with the process, we are providing basic information for admitting, transferring, and referring patients to Duke Children's Hospital & Health Center.
Education and Training
- Office of Pediatric Education
The vision of the Office of Pediatric Education (OPE) is to provide the highest quality care for infants, children, and adolescents by optimizing the education of medical students, residents, and fellows in the pediatric disciplines. Our office also facilitates faculty development, oversees a mentoring program, and promotes self-education. To that end, we provide an educational platform that enables medical professionals to become lifelong learners, excellent clinicians, and superb teachers.
- Fellowship Programs
Our pediatric fellowship programs are designed to provide outstanding training to prepare our fellows to excel as subspecialty clinicians, researchers, and teachers within the field of pediatrics. The Department of Pediatrics at Duke University Medical Center currently trains fellows in a wide variety of subspecialty programs.
- Residency Training Programs
The Department of Pediatrics sponsors graduate training programs that prepare physicians for careers dedicated to the health of infants, children, and adolescents. For more than fifty years, graduates of the Duke program have embarked successfully on careers in pediatric practice, academic pediatrics, subspecialty fields, public health and biomedical investigation.
- Medical Student Education
The Department of Pediatrics is committed to providing outstanding education in pediatrics for all medical students.
- Continuing Medical Education
The Duke Office of Continuing Medical Education is committed to providing high quality continuing education for pediatric providers and specialists throughout the world. The Duke Office of CME (DOCME) collaborates with Duke faculty, clinical departments and other units to identify educational needs and to design, implement, evaluate and document educational conferences and initiatives.
