Overview

Duke Children's Hospital & Health Center is committed to providing information and resources that are valuable to our physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals as well as to providers from other hospitals and future physicians and nurses. In this section, you will find information on:

  • Admits, Transfers, Referrals
When a patient's condition requires services available at Duke Children's, the process of admitting, transferring and referring patients is one of our top priorities. To help referring physicians with the process, we are providing basic information for admitting, transferring, and referring patients to Duke Children's Hospital & Health Center.

  • Fellowship Programs
Our pediatric fellowship programs are designed to provide outstanding training to prepare our fellows to excel as subspecialty clinicians, researchers, and teachers within the field of pediatrics. The Department of Pediatrics at Duke University Medical Center currently trains 58 fellows in a wide variety of subspecialty programs.

  • Residency Training Programs
The Department of Pediatrics sponsors graduate training programs that prepare physicians for careers dedicated to the health of infants, children, and adolescents. For more than fifty years, graduates of the Duke program have embarked successfully on careers in pediatric practice, academic pediatrics, subspecialty fields, public health and biomedical investigation.

  • Continuing Education Courses
The Duke Office of Continuing Medical Education is committed to providing high quality continuing education for pediatric providers and specialists throughout the world. The Duke Office of CME (DOCME) collaborates with Duke faculty, clinical departments and other units to identify educational needs and to design, implement, evaluate and document educational conferences and initiatives.

  • Duke Pediatrics Alumni Organization
The Duke Pediatrics Alumni Organization was established to increase communication with our alumni, to cultivate an appreciation for the history of the Department of Pediatrics and Duke Children's Hospital & Health Center among our current trainees, and to strengthen the sense of community among the large group of people who are members of the Duke Pediatrics family.
